Seismic resistance testing of KRASPAN systems

Seismic resistance testing of KRASPAN SFS has been executed in Central Building Construction Research Institute named after Kucherenko V.A. The Institute accommodates unique bench equipment for research on protection against vibration and dynamics of buildings and constructions exposed to natural and technogenic loads (earthquakes).

Test purpose: to define reliability of facade fixing to a wall and to study behavior of KRASPAN construction elements under vibration loads.

Load tests completed successfully:

  • in basement: 9 points
  • in the upper part of a facade: 9-12 points

KRASPAN systems have been experimentally and theoretically tested for work in severe natural environment. All KRASPAN systems of every type of bonding and different combinations of metal frames, facade panels and slabs are given testing reports.

KRASPAN systems seismic resistance is 9 points by MSK-64 scale, which means they can be safely use in mass construction buildings in all regions of seismic hazard.

Experimental and theoretical research on definition of suspended facade systems bearing capacity; Kraspan L-ВСт and Kraspan L-ВА.

Experimental and theoretical research was held in Building Construction Department of Federal Siberian University Institution of Civil Engineering. The research included studying of work and analyzing of strain-stress distribution of a load-carrying frame of facade systems with a ventilated air gap.

Test purpose: definition of subsystem bearing capacity and maximum vertical load; study of an altered scheme and calculation model specification.

The results have shown that the constructions meet strength and toughness requirements of the Construction Directives and Rules for vertical and horizontal wind loads in I-VI wind districts with respect to wind loading vibration for a building of up to 150m high. Albums of technical solutions have been issued for all nomenclature of KRASPAN system constructions on the base of these results.
